Finally an Update!

I have been hearing non-stop from people about how long it has been since I have updated this page...it's funny, though, because I look at other people's pages and they may go months on end without any updates! Well, I am glad to see our page is loved and visited and appreciated. Just be patient people - haha, just kidding! The little man is a nap protestor who is attention demanding sometimes and irresistible all the time! I barely have time to shower somedays - just ask my poor husband!
Sheniah on Fi-ah

My pet name for my big little one! She has been doing so wonderfully in school, sports and helping me out with Michael. She has also joined the Youth Group at our church and is going through confirmation. It is a very exciting time for her.

Here she is hanging with the little man the other night.

They are so cute!

In order to celebrate her most recent report card (which she had all A's), she chose a trip to Build-A-Bear with her good friend Courtney. The girls had a great time picking out matching "best friend" polar bears and outfits for them.

Here they are with their furry friends.

Of course, Michael needed one too! In honor of his first trip to Build-A-Bear and my brother's beloved iguana - Michael got a Triceratops that we named Dino. It is very cute.

Here is Michael with much interest and anticipation, watching the lady fill his Dino.

Michael enjoyed the experience a lot and was not frightened by any of it. He really loved his Dino, too.

He especially liked the toes of the little critter! Here he is, just after chewing on the feet of Dino.

GO GIANTS!!!!!!!!

Okay...I have to admit that I am not really a Giants fan. I like them fine, but I am not a fair-weather fan - I love the Panthers even though they stink! But...I was pulling for the Giants in the Superbowl simply to see someone knock that pretty-boy, pregnant girlfriend leaving jerk Brady off his high-horse! Needless to say...it was a great game!
Sheniah does not enjoy football, but she was quite entertained at my behavior during the second half!

Michael was entertained briefly by the game and then it was bedtime. Of course, I did have to document his first superbowl. Here he is, enjoying the game in his Bumbo.

Eating...

Michael is really starting to enjoy all the eating he gets to do! He loves all the fruits and vegetables except peas and green beans! His favorite is sweet potatoes and carrots. The Dr. said he could always tell the kids who loved carrots and sweet potatoes because the keratin in them can tint the kids skin orange...I thought, "as hard as we had to work to get this kid the right color, I don't know if I can deal with him turning orange again!!!"

But, he loves them so I guess I will have to deal with it! Here he is "chillin' out" in his swing (which is where he eats). Yep, his face is covered in sweet potatoes!

Preppy Boy...

...need I say more?!?!

Playtime...

Michael has recently found his toes and has figured out what wonderful teething/chewing/sucking items they are.

Unfortunately they wiggle around so much he often gets frustrated chasing them with his mouth open! It is quite a sight! Here he is working very hard to get them.

David had the brilliant idea of putting a mirror out for Michael while he was in his jumper. It was very cute to watch Michael look at "that baby" in the mirror and try to figure out why it wasn't trying to come toward him or touch him. He was quite fascinated by it.

And of course, Michael still loves jumping! He is getting very good at it - able to turn himself to look at things behind him. And he leaps like a little frog - it is so funny.

It makes him very happy to be jumping...almost as happy as eating carrots!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Not exactly at the top of my "favorite holidays" list, both kids enjoyed their V-Day gifts. Mom sent them matching boy and girl crabs that sing "Hot, Hot, Hot" while their tails wiggle and their lips move! They are hilarious. At first glance Michael was quite scared by his and did the famous pout followed by some near hysterical cries and real crocodile tears. However, he was quick to calm down and warm up to the noisy little thing...and discovered that it was quite interesting...

First the hand went to check out those moving lips...

Then they were lip to lip and it was love! Now Michael adores the little thing!

Old Macdonald had a...

DUCK???

Again...need I say more?!?!

Look out world....
Here comes Michael!

We are so excited to take Michael to Mexico! I thought it was hilarious, though, that he would need a passport. We just received it a couple of days ago and I couldn't help but think how funny it is that my 5 month old has a passport and I didn't have one until I was nearly 30!
I guess he's ready to go...as Dr. Suess said so well..."Oh, the places he will go"!
