Sheniah

I wanted to get one final posting done before we head off to Mexico tomorrow - EARLY - morning! We are so excited about our trip, but I am so proud of Sheniah I just had to get this posting done!

Sheniah has had a great couple of weeks in school - in fact, the whole year has been great. She is making good grades, making new friends and just maturing so much this year. I think middle school has been good for her.

Last week she had a play for her social studies class. They have been studying the Roman Empire, so they did a play depicting all they had learned. It was called "The Roman Soap Opera"! It was so cute - and really, the Roman's were probably the earliest soap opera - everyone was getting married, getting divorced, having children and killing each other! I was also excited because David was able to come so he took care of the little man and I was able to watch the entire play. Anyway, these are pictures from the play.

I think Sheniah really enjoyed it alot - I know I did!

Michael was not really excited about the play itself - but he was happy to see his big sister and give her a congratulatory drooling when it was all over!

Then this week Sheniah had a Science Fair at school. She knew her project would be on display but what was a suprise was to find that she and her group had placed 3rd! It was so exciting for her...and I was so proud of her.

Here she is with her friend and project pal Chelsea. They're so cute!

This is her and her group at the award ceremony yesterday at school.

And here is the award winning project! That's my girl - the little scientific buff!

Finally, Michael is doing great too. Here are some shots from the last few days. He loves self-feeding, hanging with daddy and rolling around in his walker. I think we have created a coffee addict, though!

Well, wish us luck on the trip! We are prepared for 4 plane-fulls of people to hate us by the time we come home next Friday! Poor Sheniah!

6 Month's Gone By

I can't believe Michael is already 6-Month's old! He is getting so big and so active...he is so much fun! He is very nosy (like his daddy) and very smart. I know all parents are partial...but he is so beautiful and quite advanced for his age! Even the Dr. said so!

So Michael had his 6-Month Check up today. Here are his newest stat's:

Weight: 15# 10oz (25th% - still a little guy, but noone is worried anymore)
Length: 27" (70th% - growing like a weed!)
Head: 46cm (90th% - I think they were wrong about this - his head doesn't look abnormally large!)

Dr. said he looks great and that perhaps he just has a large head! I think (especially from the trauma to the head at birth) that his head is quite perfect! I guess even good Dr's can't ALWAYS be right! haha

Michael is developmentally right on track...in fact the Dr. was very impressed that Michael was able to self-feed and said his fine motor skills seem to be above average due to that. He is such a smart boy!

Sheniah and David really enjoy playing "Lara Croft:Tomb Raider" together. Michael recently joined in on the fun. Here he is, cheering his daddy on!

Michael is quite a little eater, too. He loves trying new things and self-feeding (he is very independent...already has a bit of the "I can do it" attitude!)

We have recently started giving him food with meat in it (very exciting), here he is after his first try with meat (turkey tetrazzini)...

as well as introducing pickles (hilarious facial expressions)...

and teething biscuits (no teeth yet...but he's working on it).

He even tried to get a taste of daddy's coffee.

He loves to eat pretty much anything (including his toes and our fingers) and he really enjoys when his sister feeds him...

but he gets a bit impatient with her posing and lets her know he is REALLY ready for another bite!

He enjoyed himself at Sheniah's basketball award ceremony...Sheniah was a bit embarrassed though by all the fuss (check out how red she is...hence the nickname "Sheniah on Fi-Ah"!!!!)

He also likes visiting daddy at work...

or visiting Great-Popou and Lafata.

And even though he often gets a bit of "stranger-danger", he is quick to warm up and enjoys new people, places and activities.

He loves his walker...

inside...

(GO DEACS!!!!!)

or out!

He loves visiting with his "Aunt" Cathy....

And so does Sheniah (who adopted Cathy as her Aunt many years ago!)

He recently enjoyed shopping for Mexico supplies...

This hat is so stinkin' cute!

He's such a happy boy!

And he is really starting to enjoy playing games with daddy, me, Sheniah...even the cats. This one I like to call "Kitty Cat Peek-A-Boo".

First, Tiger went through the cat door to go downstairs and get a bite to eat.

Michael noticed this and here he is...

"Where'd the kitty go?!?!"

Next, out came Tiger...

"Oh, there she is!"

Finally, Michael decided it must be a magical kitty making door and sat wondering...

"Where are the rest of the kitties?!?!"

Tiger, as you can see, was not impressed!

I am so excited to announce the much anticipated arrival of my second nephew! Jarrod and Cheryl-Ann just found out they are having a boy...Brandon Michael. We are all very thrilled. I am especially excited because we will be able to be in Colorado shortly after Brandon is due and I really hope to be able to meet him! So, my fingers are crossed (as are Cher's, I'm sure) that she won't go over-due!

Isn't he adorable!
