Mexico '08

Well we made it to Mexico and back safe and sound! It was a great trip. Michael did wonderfully on the airplane's and we all really had a blast swimming, hanging out and relaxing together.

Michael's first plane ride. Okay, he doesn't look too happy in this picture...but all in all he did really good!

Gammy and Grandpa bought Michael a walker to enjoy while we were there. They could only find this very feminine, pink one though! But, Michael is comfortable with his masculinity so it was okay!

He really liked chasing the new pups Boomer and Duff. Fairway, the old girl, just tried to avoid getting run over!

We have just begun experimenting more with table foods with Michael. He has tried (and does not like) mashed potatoes, peas, and in Mexico a lemon.

He was a little unsure...

And then quite sure it was a bit tart for him!

We swam a lot...Michael was very stylin' in his sunglasses and hat and surf shirt! In spite of my best efforts he did get a bit of a suntan!

Tooo cooooool in his floatie with daddy!

Sheniah had a coooool floatie, too!

Dinner at the clubhouse.

The "Five-Head" club! It is, obviously, a genetic trait passed on for generations! We were just missing J-Rod! I wonder if Brandon will inherit the Five Head?!?!

Michael shared a dance with Grandpa while we anxiously awaited our dinner.

Sheniah entertained herself with the camera while the adults chatted and Michael snacked on puffs and things. She has obviously inherited the family talent of "self-portraits" - I just think this is such a pretty shot of her!

This is the beautiful house we stayed in. I have many more shots of the inside and backyard...but I am sure most people would rather see pictures of all of us, so...moving on!!!

For Easter we all dressed up and went to brunch at the clubhouse. It was a lot of fun. Sheniah looked very beautiful and so grown up in a skirt and shirt that Gammy let her borrow.

Michael wore an adorable outfit from Yaya that has a little ducky in a boat on his bottom!

Of course we swam again later that afternoon and hung out. I could post a million pictures of us all swimming! Such a blast!

That evening Sheniah was off swimming with a friend she made, Callie. David and I decided to take Michael out to enjoy the sunset. The following are some of the images from that...I hate to toot my own horn, but I think they are pretty great pictures...hmmm, maybe I have a new career ahead of me as a photographer! haha

Granted, the beautiful sunset was beneficial to the outcome of these images, but I just think they are so cool!

David then stole my brilliant technique (haha) and snapped some images of me and the little goose.

So cool...

The next day Sheniah went body boarding with her new friend Callie. We got some video of that...our efforts to photograph were not highly successful as we were so far away from the girls as they caught wave after wave.

Here are the girls getting ready to ride a wave (Sheniah is on the left!)

They were out there all day and into the evening...they even both got stung by jellyfish - and then went right back to it! Crazy kids!

We put Michael's feet in the sand and now he can say he's been to the Pacific and Atlantic Ocean - well, he could if he was able to speak!
The water was cold and he wasn't too crazy about it, though.

Then we went to Gammy and Grandpa's for dinner. Fairway cornered Michael and patiently waited for him to toss her the tennis ball...she just couldn't understand why he wouldn't pick it up and throw it for her!

And of course, there can never be too much of a good thing so we repeated the sunset pictures! I love this one with the profiles of the boys.

The next day was David's birthday so Sheniah drove us (in the golf cart) to the clubhouse to have lunch. Dad was able to knock off work for a few minutes to join us, too. We all enjoyed it and Sheniah really loved being the driver! Oh dear, only 3 1/2 more years for the real deal!

That night we went to El Cuchapetta's for a birthday feast! The food was wonderful and we were all miserable by the time we left from overeating so much!

Future Tiger Woods?!?!

Hangin' with daddy!

We really enjoyed our trip but we were ready to get home. When we came home we had a late celebration of David's birthday with his family.

The kids were happy to see eachother.

The boys, as usual, were ready to eat!

Papou and Lafata came.

And Alison made one of her famous Reese's cheesecake's for David! It was soooo delicious!

The next day Alison and Brandon brought the kids over for another visit...I guess they REALLY missed us! They stayed for dinner and we had a great time. It is really fun now watching Michael interact with the kids. It is killing him, though, not yet being mobile. He just gets so anxious watching Wesley. I know before long they will be chasing after one another!

Sheniah was at confirmation classes, though I don't think she would have wanted to lay on the floor with the little kids anyway!

The boys! Future little buddies, I'm sure!

Finally, yesterday was Michael's 7 month birthday! I can't believe it! Sheniah helped me (very accurately...haha) weigh and measure him. I am sure it is close enough, though! So here are his official (unofficial) 7 month stat's...

Weight: 17#
Height: 27" (see, I don't think they are quite accurate as I am sure he has grown a bit in height in the last month!)

Another big development happened yesterday, too. Michael bit me (as he has been doing for months), but there was something there! Yep, he got his first tooth yesterday! It was so exciting!

I am such a dork! I know you really can't see anything in this picture...but if you look real close and use a bit of imagination...well, I promise it is there!
