Michael is really moving these days. He is changing and growing so fast, it is hard to keep up with it all. One thing I did forget to mention was that his 6th tooth appeared on September 18. It is the bottom one just left of center. He is getting so toothy!
Here he is walking around on the back porch.
Crawling is still faster and safer!
"Are you talkin' to me??"
The kiddo's hanging out...
Playing Superbaby!
So, the other morning after breakfast I was in the kitchen cleaning up the mess. I could hear Michael in the living room playing with his activity chair from Aunt Alison and family. After a couple of minutes I didn't hear the chair anymore but Michael was chattering away so I thought he was fine. Then a couple of minutes later the chattering had stopped and I was a bit concerned. I walked around the corner to find this...
It's hard to tell from this picture but he is standing on top of the coffee table! Apparently the activity chair doubles as a great step-stool and he was able to easily get on top of the table with its help! (Mental note to self: don't put chair in front of coffee table - CHECK!!!)
Ahhh...the kiddos sharing the love! They are kissing through the plastic windshield...Sheniah isn't too crazy about the drool factor when she kisses Michael!
"So, you wanna' go for a ride in my car?"
Bonding with Yaya...I don't know why he looks so old in this picture!?!
Up the stairs to get the big sister...
Playing in the guest room as the Sheniah lounges...
Once he figured out he could go up the stairs he has been obsessed. I have to get him off the first step (which is not gated in) at least 5 times daily. Here he is sitting and waiting for someone to open the gate so he can make a run for it...
"Hey, kitty, can you show me how to get through this gate??"
"I'll show you my tummy if you will...please?!?!"
"Hey, how'd you do that????"
Finally, the best way I can describe the last couple of weeks is BUSY! Sheniah has been going non-stop and is anxiously awaiting ANOTHER trip next week. She is going with Student Council to New Orleans for a national convention. I am so excited she is able to go and have this experience. I can't wait till she gets home so I can post all about it!
Michael is busy, too. He never stops moving or talking! Even when I lay him down to sleep he chatters for a bit! He is quickly transitioning from crawling to walking. He is starting to realize that although crawling is safer and faster now, walking has the potential to be REALLY fast!
Today we spent a ton of time outside and I was shocked at how much he was walking - it was all in the attempt to keep his bare hands and legs off the patio and grass but, hey, whatever works!
Walking...
Walking...
Stopping for a snack (acorns, twigs, dirt, whatever - gotta replenish those calories from all the walking)...
Walking...
Walking...
Eating...
Scrounging for food...
Eating...
"I wasn't eating anything? What dirt on my chin???"
This past Wednesday (October 1) when we took Sheniah to Youth I told Michael "Tell Sheniah bye-bye" like I do every time we drop her off. He normally won't say anything or may say "Bye" and that's it...this time he waved his little hand and said "Bye-Bye" - too cute! It's so fun watching them learn new gestures and words...his favorite word (he wakes up saying and goes to sleep saying) is "BALL"!
Speaking of learning new things, today Michael learned to play Patty-Cake. Well, he can't "Roll it" but he really enjoys the clapping part! Here is my best effort at capturing the patty-cake clapping with a still camera (not an easy feat!!)
