Snow!!!

First I will start with the update from the neurologist...everything is fine!!! YIPPEE!!! Michael just has a big head like his momma and daddy! There is no abnormality on his cat scan. Everyone who knows him could tell that...but it is better to be safe than sorry. So now we know...he must just be brilliant!
Here are a few new pictures for everyone's viewing pleasure...
Harrison in the bouncy chair...

Harrison gave me his first smile on January 18th. It was so exciting and rewarding...even if only for a moment! I think God made babies have "milestones" to keep their parents sane! Just when you think you can't take another sleepless night or one more seemingly meaningless bout of wails you are rewarded with a smile, coo, giggle, and first word (which is ALWAYS dada...but that's okay!)

We caught his smile on camera...he was napping and it was probably gas in this case, but it is still too cute!

Then we went to Yaya's to hang out. The big boys had a great time, and as always it was great to be together. Here are a bunch of pictures from Yaya's...

Maria and Sheniah were also at Yaya's, but neither of them were feeling great so they were off laying down when the pictures were getting taken...I didn't leave them out on purpose!
Finally, today we had our first snow of the year. It is actually the first snow we've had in a while...and let me tell you, it was quite impressive! School was even cancelled!
Well, maybe not so impressive to all my friends and family out west or up in Canada...but to us it was quite an event. I even bundled up the boys for some photo time...
Harrison was less than thrilled with the snow...

Michael thought it was great fun. I think he would have played in it all day (well, at least for a couple of hours until it melted away!) but David and I were freezing to pieces!

His little snowsuit was a gift from the Johnsen's...but (yes, now that his head is officially okay, I am going to make jokes again) his head was too big for the hood so we had to improvise.
Finally I must brag on what a smart boy Michael is...it must be extra brain power in all that room up there! He says new words every day..."Harrison" which sounds like "Hassin", "Car", "Milk", "Push", "Pizza", "Spoon" which sounds like "Butts", even compounds like..."kitty cat" and my favorite (and his favorite, that he says all the time) is "What is this" - it is a bit run together and is often used as "Who is it", "Where is it", "What is it"...but it is SO cute! I've got to get it on video and then learn how to post videos. That will be my ambitious project for 2009!

A Month Gone By!

A month has already passed since Harrison joined our family...I can't believe it! It has gone by so fast.
Mom came back for another visit, to meet her newest grandchild. It was wonderful to see her, although we all got a stomach bug while she was here and spent most of the visit sick! Oh well, that just means she will have to come back again for a "fun" visit!
The boys got to visit with Grandma and Yaya...

Michael is really falling in love with his baby brother...here he is holding his hand. Well, he may be squeezing a bit hard...but he tries very hard to be gentle!Sheniah finally came home from her daddy's and got to celebrate Christmas again! It was a lot of fun.
Santa brought her a North Face jacket which was almost as exciting as the stuffed penguin from Cathy!
Harrison was pretty bored with the whole thing...
He really enjoyed his Grandma...though you wouldn't really know it from this picture!

Loving bathtime...just like his big brother!

Unlike his big brother, he is quite a chub! At his 2 week check-up (which was actually at 3 weeks) on December 31st he was 20 3/4" long and he weighed a whopping 8# 11oz! Just for comparison, Michael weighed 8# 5oz at 2 months!

Michael has decided that the bouncy chair (for Harrison) is quite the lounger!

Oooohhh...isn't he cute!

Me and my boys...
Yippee...another tax deduction!

Napping in the cradle...what a great gift!

Michael actually put off bath time a few minutes here to hang out with Harrison. Fortunately, noone got peed on!

Saying goodbye to Grandma...

Along with the bouncy chair, Michael has rediscovered the cradle...which, believe it or not, he still fits in!
Bonding with Daddy...
Poor Harrison...nothing will ever be truly "his"! Michael has also rediscovered the swing! What a silly goose!
So I am trying to keep the blog mostly current...I know a lot of people appreciate it, and I thank you all for enjoying it. Hopefully I can keep up with it.
LOVE YA!
Since Harrison was a month old yesterday David and I measured him and weighed him. It is not as accurate as Michael (since he was still seeing the Dr. regularly at this point) but here are his 1 month stats (though, we did not measure his head)
Weight: 10#
Height: 21"
Finally, tomorrow we go to the pediatric neurologist to have a cat scan done on Michael's head. I have tried to remain optomistic and strong, and really hadn't thought a lot about it over the last year. I've even made a joke of it to friends and family and here on the blog. Now I find with the pending test, well, I'm quite nervous. Fortunately we will have the results immediately...I can't imagine having to wait days or even hours to find out if everything is okay. I will try to do a quick post tomorrow to let everyone know. Hopefully he's just brilliant and has to make more room for all that brain power!
