Siding...Day 7!

Just a few today...they are getting to a lot of the detailed work, like caulking, which takes a long time and is not very noticeable in pictures....so, this is what I have to show today...

Both sides of the chimney done with new vents...very nice!
The little area by the front door is done (other than us repainting the red trim and front door...we're thinking black?!?!)
The front of the house completed, except the new shutters they will hang tomorrow.
Some of the detailing they are doing...
"CHEEEESE!!!"
Will post more tomorrow...hopefully they start on the carport!

Siding...Day 6!

Yesterday got rained out (everything survived the tornado warnings/strong winds and hail) so today was day 6. They got a lot done, it still feels like it is going to take them forever!
The front...gotta' love the Carolina blue sky!

By the time I got out to take the pictures the sun was making photography difficult...but you get the idea...it is SOOO PRETTY!!!
Can't wait till it's done!

Siding...Day 4 & 5!

Day four ended up getting rained out after only a couple of hours, so there wasn't much progress to document. But, there was some plumber's crack to document (haha) - not on the workers (eeewww)...just from Harrison!
What a cutie!
So today they returned and really made a lot of progress. They have one side nearly completed, just have to finish the windows and then do the final stuff like caulking. It looks so great! I can't wait until it is all done!

I'm so sad tomorrow is Sunday! Now we will have to wait until Monday to see more progress...ugh!

Siding...Day 3!

First, and most importantly...Happy Birthday to my wonderful husband! A whole decade gone, he's now 30...I can't believe we've been together for almost the whole decade! I am so thankful for you, appreciative and proud of who you are, the father you have become and the amazing husband you turned out to be! I did pretty good when I picked you...haha!

"Happy Birthday, Daddy!!!"
Harrison wouldn't hold still long enough for a picture...and I knew David would be dying to see the progress made today!
Looking great!

Of course, we are supposed to get rain tonight and tomorrow...at least the bottom 1/2 of the house is more protected! Hopefully it blows over quickly or "Siding...Day 4" may not be until Saturday!

Siding...Day 2!

Two posts in one day...I am really on a roll! I know my David is dying to see the progress made today after he went to work, so I wanted to get these posted for him...an early b-day present!

Harrison spent most of the day supervising...
"They're doing all right, momma!"
It doesn't look like a lot is done, but they got all the flashing up around the bottom of the house to prevent the water splashes that can damage the wood so badly (of course...we are expecting rain). Also, they got a lot of the detailed stuff done, like around the 5 billion boxes and wires hanging off the back of my house (why are these all necessary???!!!)

Edges trimmed and flashing done.
I like this picture...the window on the left is the old painted trim. The one on the right is covered (but not caulked yet)...pretty nice improvement!
Again, done next to not done!
That's it. Pretty exciting. I am sad to lose some of the character of the house but it will be a relief to not have to worry every time it rains that the windows (or walls) are leaking!
Will post more soon!

So Exciting!

Something happened today that is so exciting I can't even think of an original title for this posting...but first...a few pictures from the last week...

It finally got warm enough we got out the pool...the boys were so excited to get in I couldn't even wrestle on their swimmie diapers...oh well! Good thing we have a 6 foot fence!

David and I were working on planting some vegetables across the fence from the boys and Harrison decided to supervise!
That night Maria came to have a sleepover with Sheniah. It was a lot of fun...the girls had a great time helping me go shopping, painting their nails, and doing lot's of fun "girlie" stuff!
This is the "morning after" shot!
Later that day we went to the park and had a picnic. The kids had a lot of fun, even though Maria stubbed her toe!

Michael had fun running up and down the hill with Nonnie chasing after!
Then we went to Alison and Brandon's for dinner and some good play time. Michael spent most of the day without a diaper on and peeing on bushes and trees...very exciting!
Here are the boys in the playhouse!
Harrison with hair!!!!
HILARIOUS!!!! I'm having total 80's hair-band flashbacks!!! haha
The next day it hit me....on March 21, Harrison was the exact age Michael was when Harrison was born. When I look at him I can't believe Michael was that little when Harrison was born! I can't believe I made it through that time with both of them...thankfully my mom and David were both here a lot the first month or I don't know how I would have survived! Also, I am VERY lucky Michael came first...he may have been a high maintenance newborn, but at 15 months he was NOTHING compared to how naughty and busy Harrison is now!
Michael in his backpack from Grandma!
Last night Sheniah had a choir concert at school. David was able to get off work early so I could go (without the boys) and actually be able to enjoy the concert! It was great! The pictures are horrible...but at least you can kind of make her out!
Finally, the very exciting part...
Harrison has been coming along with Michael each time I take him to go potty. At first he would just stand their and observe, then he wanted to sit on the potty chair (which prompted the purchase of a second potty chair - we definitely need a bigger bathroom!!!) and finally he got to where he would get really mad if I didn't take his diaper off just like Michael. So, the last few weeks we have been going in several times a day and trying. Harrison just sits there until I get him off, or sometimes he jumps off and I have to chase him down. Anyway, this morning we did the usual after breakfast potty break. Michael didn't do anything and (as usual) was really not interested. So after sitting for a few minutes I got Michael off the potty chair and sent him to Daddy to get a diaper on. Then, I got Harrison off his potty chair and guess what...he had gone potty!!!! It was so exciting!
That's it for today. Love to all!
