Michael's 1st ER Visit

I'll start with...he's fine! And before I get on to the story, a few pictures first...
The boys...this may have been David's first day at his new job (yippee...a new job that he really seems to love so far!) and they may have been waiting for him to come home.

Dinner with Papou and Lafata at the fantastic Greek Isles.

Harrison enjoying a lamb chop (another Greek boy!)
Michael didn't want to eat, so he and David stood outside the restaurant looking at the light rail trains most of the night!
Aunt Cathy and Riley came for a visit last week after Riley's 4 month check up. I don't think Cathy is feeding him enough - he weighed 18 1/2#!!!! I thought Harrison was a fatty boy!!! hehe He is too adorable, fat rolls galore! Here he is borrowing one of Harrison's hats, and Harrison wanting it back!
What a cutie!

A rare moment where Sheniah was home with the family! Here is a self portrait, very good picture of her - Michael is a little lost, though!
The boys playing in the tunnel...
Harrison looking naughty as ever!
Playing together in the tunnel.
Reading with daddy.
Michael enjoying the last of the tomatoes!
Alison and the kids came over for a visit this weekend. Sheniah was gone to Orlando with the student council (which I will post about when I hear from her how it went!). As soon as the Alison got here, Wesley wanted to hold Harrison. Amazingly enough, Harrison let him, and seemed to enjoy it!

Maria wanted in on the action, too!
The kids had a great time together.
We all played outside, even though it was cold.
Harrison practiced walking in shoes on uneven terrain!
He's on the go!
The kiddos!

Harrison scaling the wall trying to get to the big kids on the swingset.

We made a "train" of bikes and the boys really enjoyed that, too!
They liked it when Maria pushed them around the yard.
Maria even got a push from Michael!
It was such a fun day. The kids were having a blast and it was fun to hang out with Alison. They were going to stay for dinner, so I was inside fixing the tacos and preparing Harrison's dinner. David came inside for a few moments to check and see if I needed help. The next thing I know, I hear the back door fly open and a blood-curdling scream that I knew was Michael. I dropped the lettuce in the sink and turned to run down the hall...when I looked up I see Alison rushing into the kitchen with Michael in her arms and blood is pouring down his chin. Ugh - it was terrifying. I thought maybe he had hit his nose, so I took him from her as she described what had happened. Maria was swinging and Michael ran out in front of her, catching either her knee or foot in the mouth.
So, I tried to calm him down (and myself!) and clean it up to see what the damage was. There was a pretty hefty laceration to his lip and his gums were also bleeding. SO - off to the ER (Swine flu infestation, anyone~~!!!!) we went with him screaming the whole way (fortunately we are only about 1 1/2 blocks from the hospital!
Long story somewhat short, the ER doc said there was no need for stitches but she was concerned about possible tooth damage. We are off to see a pediatric dentist tomorrow to make sure his teeth/gums/jaw bone did not suffer any permanent damage.

So, here is a picture of Michael's first big boo boo!
A few hours after it happened...
It bled a bit overnight...

And swelled like crazy...poor little guy!

So of course Aunt Alison feels terribly guilty. I told her it was just the first of likely many ER visits for one of our children caused by the other! I can imagine how she feels though because as much as we don't blame her at all, I secretly am happy it was her kid who hurt mine first so I won't have to feel quite as guilty when the shoe is on the other foot!
Now onto videos...
Harrison really has this whole walking thing figured out! Here he is on October 9 (still looking somewhat like a zombie!)
And here is more walking and the boys playing...

Here is Harrison standing and then walking - October 12.

And finally, this one has nothing to do with Harrison walking but it is just cute! It is all 3 of my kids (which rarely happens since Sheniah is so busy!) playing and being really loud together...

So that is it for now. I will try to get pictures from Sheniah's camera uploaded so everyone can see what she did on her trip to Orlando. She was tired this morning when I picked her up (at 7am after riding in the bus since 11pm last night) but said she had a great time! I can't wait to hear all about it!
